we love nuh! they even prepared a simple candle-lit dinner for dad and mom to celebrate my arrival:

thanks dad and mom for bringing me to this world. thanks to my (grand)papa and (grand)mama for taking care of mom and me. thanks to my cousins and aunts for flying in to see me (but missed out). thanks to my lolo jeprox and tito borgie for the prayers. thanks to lola for watching over mom when she was in labor. thanks to my ninongs and ninangs and my parents' friends and colleagues for support. thanks to dr. chua tsei meng (the best o & g), jurong east clinic, nurses and midwives at nuh, and nuh. most of all, thank you dear Jesus, for my mom's safe delivery, for my health and cuteness, and for completing my family.

my first visitors

my first visitors:

(grand) papa and (grand)mama arrived first. they brought stuff for us. they were so happy to see me and they even both cried. next came ninong and ninang leio, they brought a mickey pillow and a bouquet of flowers. then tito jen, tita rhea, kuya odin and ate abi came to visit us. they brought pansit for my parents to eat. they didn't stay long because they wanted dad and mom to rest even if they haven't slept since yesterday, they were so alive and energetic. see how much happiness i bring them? =)

my birthday!

03 january 2009. they induced mom's labor around 12:45am (she was only 2cm dilated). mom, was very brave, because when asked what type of pain killer she prefers, she said none. but in case it's needed, she she chose entonox. she bravely said that epidural was not an option because she wants to be able to feel me come out of her and to make her feel the pains and joy of being a mom (that's my mo, she's kinda ma-drama).

around 2:30am, when mom's pain became worse. she was crying already, she said it's like having mentrual cramps plus lbm together. mom was twisting and pinching dad's arms. mom kept praying and dad kept encouraging mom to be strong that they'll see me in a while. around 3:23am when mom's waterbag broke.

around 4am, mom asked for the laughing gas, because the pain was unbearable. they said she's 4cm already and were surprised by how fast the progress is. they called dr. chua already.

aroung 4:30am, dr. chua arrived and mom was 8cm dilated already. they taught mom how to push and the midwives were assisting her. mom's very first push came with an ear-piercing scream. dr. said dont scream and mom obeyd. after about 5-8 pushes only, at exactly 5:38am, the gooey, cutie me came out. they placed me on mom's belly while they cleaned me out. everyone was stunned by my cuteness =)

i was born on 03 january 2009 at 5:38am at nuh. i was 51cm long and weighed 3.25kg (7.15lbs). dad and mom were so proud of me. i was a perfectly healthy boy and passed all the newborn screening test. they were happy because i never gave mom a hard time when she was pregnant with me, most especially when she gave birth. i love you dad and mom! =)

almost there!

02 january 2009. today is my titas' and cousins' last day in sg. my dad and mom went to dr. chua earlier so they can run tests on mom. i'm 1 day overdue already. around 4pm, mom took a shower and got the hospital bags ready. (grand)papa accompanied mom to redhill mrt where she would meet dad (who came from work). when they arrived at jurong east clinic, they ran tests on mom. the contractions are still very irregular, but my heartbeat and my movements are ok. i am quite active actually. they checked if my mom's waterbag was leaking, but it's not. so, saatna, dr. chua's assistant ask them if they want to induce labor. my parents discussed it and because they are so dying to see me already, they said ok. saatna made arrangements at nuh so mom can have her own delivery suite ready and our own room reserved for us =) beofre leaving the clinic, they told mom that she can only eat 1 bread and 1 milo, must be eaten before 6pm and no more meals after that. poor mom...

so, they went to the nearby kopitiam to eat, then went home. i am a bit sad because my titas and cousins are leaving that night and we won't be able to bring them to the airport. we spent few more hours at home, laughing and playing with them as they packed. we left the hse around 10:30pm already. we parted ways at tiong bahru mrt station, since my titas and cousins are going to the airport and we were headed to nuh.

my mom was quite anxious and scared. it's her first time to be admited to a hospital. we checked in around 11:30pm (the nurses and midwives were waiting for us already). the suite was nice, here is a pic of nuh delivery suite 10:

there's a lazy boy for dad, tv, toilet and shower room. this is were i was born.

new year's day

01 january 2009. new year's day. this day is my parent's 42nd courtship monthsary and my 40th week. my mom's been walking like crazy but still no signs of labor. they celebrated this day by hearing mass at st. teresa's then brunch at disney naturally, a mickey restau at anchorpoint. below is a picture of mom with her mickey pizza:

mom's craving for...

11 november 2008. this is what my mom's craving for when she was pregnant with me: chocolate gateau fom bengawan solo. she can eat an entire cake (but not in 1 sitting, ok? she's not that matakaw!) thanks dad for buying this cake for mom. this (and the hershey's and cadbury chocolates that you constantly buy) really makes her happy.

18 may 2008. our first "unofficial" family picture, taken at jurong east swimming complex. i'm 7 weeks and 2 days inside mom's tummy.

my heartbeat

30 may 2008. this is me at week 9. i am 17.9mm, you can see my head, torso, upper and lower limds and heart. my mom cried when she heard my heartbeat. she can't believe i'm there, inside her and dad was speechless, but smiling. my mom said that i even danced (swayed from one side to another). bibo ko naman!

10 may 2008. my parents' first visit to my mom's o & g. her name is dr. chua tsei meng, a senior consultant from national university hospital (where my mom will give birth). but they're seeing her at jurong east clinic for women.

this is me at week 6. you see, i am just a dot. i measured 0.9mm then. i didn't even have a heartbeat back then. dr. chua (my mom's o & g said it's to early, but i'm definitely there!)
